The original design client's brief was to utilise and expand upon the existing four pipe fan coil unit arrangement. It soon became apparent that in order to meet the employers requirements especially with regards to energy savings/payback and shorter installation timescales that an alternative engineered solution was required. The existing plant was over 20 years old and although operation in most cases was no longer operating at its maximum efficiency.
Ander Teknix Engineering took on the responsibility of this design and build project which was obviously supported with all our design calculations/data/drawings. Our solution was cheaper than the compliant solution (4 pipe) by £250K with more efficient plant and with shorter installation time. The solution fitted the employer's requirements better, especially with regards savings in energy/payback making the solution far more cost effective.
Scope of work:
- On three floors
- A data centre with 6 Stultz Down Flows
- 2- Daikin Air Cooled Chillers
- 12 AHU's for the Core Areas and Atrium supported with 7 off Boilers
- North Communications running as the BMS with a wb based head end displaying all graphics digital and analogue values.
