Overview:

The original design for the Ethos project called for water cooled condensers, fed from a bore hole. The design was vastly over budget until Ander Teknix Ltd presented a case for traditional VRV cooling which dramatically cut installation costs as well as increasing efficiency. Following a 2 year delay, works commenced in late 2007. The deadline, following the delays, was very tight indeed.

Our project managers carried out a planning study which enabled all work disciplines to operate as efficiently as possible, within the time constraints, and without getting in each others way. The task seemed impossible, but the initial planning study was key to ensuring there were no delays whatsoever. As Ander Teknix provided all our own operatives for the mechanical fit out and coordinated the electrical works, mutual cooperation between the various trades proved invaluable.

We selected Mitsubishi Electric, to provide the air conditioning systems; these were all the City Multi type with simultaneous heating / cooling and highly efficient heat recovery. With space being a major factor, all the condensing units were installed below ground and vented through the car park as installing them on the roof was not an option due to planning permissions.

All works were completed on time and within budget with little or no variations to the contract order value. Our clients, Andrew Scott Ltd, are delighted with the outcome and we are currently in the design stage for 3 further Andrew Scott Ltd ventures.

This project and others have been a success for a number of reasons: our design team listened to the issues and offered the ideal solution. The project managers planned end executed the design and our engineering staff excelled with the installation. This is how Ander Teknix works, this is our ethos.
