Case study: Air Conditioning for 3 bed house

Ander-Teknix Ltd was asked to look at air conditioning a 3 bedroom house in Chepstow. Our sales engineer visited the customer and it was decided that air conditioning wall units would be ideal for the lounge, second bedroom and master bedroom, easy so far!

Conservatory heating and cooling system

The conservatory, being very large, already built and decorated, needed a considerable amount of cooling in the summer and heating for the winter. Ander-Teknix advised using a low wall unit, specifically sized to fit on a standard dwarf wall. The cooling/heating capacity was calculated and then increased to allow for the conditioned air to cover the kitchen as well, which was semi open to the conservatory. Installing an individual system in the kitchen would have added to the price, and in any case there was no free space for it.

The customer decided to leave the unused, third bedroom alone as radiators were sufficient for the time being, but later contacted Ander-Teknix with the happy news that a baby was on its way. Being very small, the new nursery required a different solution.

Loft-based air conditioning

Ander-Teknix installed an air conditioning system in the loft and ducted the conditioned air into the room. By offering an over capacity, we were then able to further provide ducted air to the main and on-suite bathrooms from the same air conditioner. This allowed the central heating to be turned off completely.

Dramatically reduced energy bills
The customer is extremely pleased with the installation and as inverter controlled air conditioners were used throughout, his fuel costs have been reduced dramatically. An estate agent friend of the customer’s advised him that when it is time to move, the cost of the air conditioning would not only increase the value of the property, it would also make the house easier to sell.
