Case study: Temperature control & comfort cooling

Client: Baylis Distribution

Brief

To provide comfort cooling in the administration offices and a temperature controlled environment in the distribution warehouses, within the clients budget.

Issues

The 120,000 square foot wharehouses presented a number of issues. The client required variable and rapid temperature control in each of the three areas to meet their continually changeable product storage needs. Limited power supplies, no mains gas supply and high solar heat gains complicated matters further.

Ander-Teknix solutions

Copeland, scroll condensing units were chosen for their high efficiency in order to operate within the available power limitations.

The Ander-Teknix design team calculated heat gains and air movements on our CAD system, in order to provide an even airflow around the storeage areas, paying particular attention to the issues of variable height racking systems. With this in mind, we designed the solution utilising Searle evaporators, operated by our custom built control panels. An oil fired heating system was also installed.

The successful installation was completed on time and met the client's budget.

Disciplines Employed

Included full CAD design, amongst many others.
